Sorry for not posting earlier. It's been busy around here. We had a nice trip to TN and it was great seeing everyone . . . . Aunt Nancy & Uncle Bob, Bernadine & Terry, Josh and his new wife Angela, Tiffany, Lea & Luke, Roy, Suzy, Haley & Jacob, Scott & Allie. I don't think I left anyone out, but if I did that doesn't mean that I didn't enjoy seeing you too :)

Welcome Home Everyone!

I hope you all had a nice trip! I hear the wedding was beautiful. I am sorry I missed it! The Lake House is waiting for me, I hear it calling my name....I can't wait to go back! Todd and Christine are on their way home from Conneticutt today~they had a baby shower! Ah I wanna see their cute little baby stuff! We are going to have a shower for them in October~you should all come to Indiana! All of you could stay at my house! Trip to Chicago

We may have a trip to Chicago in our future. Carter might be seeing a surgeon in Chicago about his leg. It's Dr. McKinnon. Some of you may have heard of him. He's one of the doctors that traveled to Romania to operate on an extremely large tumor and also on a 200 lb tumor here in the states. Both were NF related which is the genetic disorder that Carter has.

I don't know all the details, but I thought maybe we could crash in Knox, Indiana????? I Googled it and it's only about 2 hours away.

Also, I was thinking I would have to make it to some of the Chicago museums and then thought about the time we went to Chicago with Aunt Nancy and Uncle Bob and I think Jerry, Jesse, and Marjorie were with us. I remember a red truck that had a topper on the back and some of us kids sat back there for the trip. Anybody else remember this or did I dream it???? I remember really loving the museum we went to. I'd like to know the name of it and maybe take Shaye if we get to come.

Back To School

Well it is that time of year again~so soon! I got to go with Jenny, Shannon and all the grandkids to the Michigan City outlet mall to do some shopping for much needed school clothes~and Oh! what fun we had. They will all be dressed in style as they head off to school this Wed. The only problem we had was at lunch time~seemed all seven wanted to eat at a different place~we ended up getting a pizza, taking it to the DQ, ordering chicken strips and burgers for those that didn't want pizza, and ended up having a great lunch before heading back to the mall for more shopping. We put in a full day and we were all happy when it was time to head back home, even if we had forgotten to purchase one thing or another~ save it for another day! Jakey, Jenny's youngest will be going to pre-school this year ~ and Kaden, Shannon's youngest will start next year~ how sad ~ they just grow up so fast~but we do have a another baby on the way!

Ethan you used all the money you got for graduation very well. We wish you much success with college, what are you studying? Sounds like your truck is looking good~You're already looking good~but I guess the gym membership is a good idea. Wow you even had some to tuck away in the bank~good for you. Hope we get to see you sometime soon! And Congratulations once again.

The Next Generation...

No, I'm not talking about Star Trek... I'm talking about Gibson's! Chris & I feel honored to present to you... (drum roll please)... a brand new Gibson baby boy! He will be arriving sometime in mid-November. I have heard rumor of a baby shower being thrown on October 14th for the little guy. Everyone is welcome to attend if they can make it up this way.

Who's coming to Josh's wedding?

Just wondering if any of you are going to be at Josh's wedding . . . . specifically Aunt Nancy and Uncle Bob???????

Mom, Mamaw, Shaye, Carter and I are headed up to TN on Thursday and then over to Richmond for the wedding the next Saturday.

CHILDREN'S BOOKS

As I am sitting here in the beautiful downtown bookstore known as the BookWorm, I am trying to come up with an idea for a children's book! There are so many out there how could one possibly come up with an original idea?!? Well, I think Shawna could! Shawna, you would be a great children's book author, you have such a great imagination and you are well-versed. I really think you should try it out! We would have you in for a book signing and it would be such a grand adventure! So quit messing with this blog and get busy!!!!! P.S. my mom said you can't do it! Prove her wrong! I think she was kidding but you never know about her! We are having Author Cheri Halwood in for a signing on August 18th. She writes childrens books, we had her in for her first book WINTER'S FIRST SNOWFLAKE and now she is coming in to sign her new book THE CURIOUS POLKA~DOT PRESENT. Of course the key to any good children's book are the illustrations. One would have to find a good artist, do you know any? I hope everyone has a wonderful day, God Bless Shannon

HOT from Florida

It's hot here too! I decided I'm not going outside again until December! I love fall and spring and here in Florida they last longer than they do up there. Actually, Shannon, snow sounds GREAT right now! I could go for a few ice cold flurries!

I got so excited about all the pictures I posted on the blogs that I decided to scrapbook this week. I went to Walmart this morning and picked up some prints. I'm a little behind and I'm having a hard time trying to deciding where to start. Wish we lived closer so we could get together for an all night scrapbooking party!

Carter is a little under the weather, his counts are the lowest they've been since the induction phase early last summer, he's fine, just not quite himself. He's on a break for three weeks and we are headed back to TN for Josh's wedding. Can't believe Josh is getting married!

Hey Y'all! Shawna, I love your slide shows! I laughed so hard when I watched the one of you guys jumping onto the couch bed! You guys are so funny! I tried posting a second ago and I didn't see it come up so I am trying again! What's going on with everyone this week? We are having a Back to School Yard Sale on Saturday, and shopping on Monday~YIPPEE~we love shopping! It is VERY HOT and VERY HUMID here today, hopefully soon we can enjoy that awesome fall weather(except it doesn't last long enough!) I think I will send the Floridians some snow this year, and maybe we will keep the good weather up this way!!!!!!!!lolololol Anyhow, talk to you all soon Love ya, Shannon
