Surgeries were a success!

Shaye had her tonsils and adenoids removed yesterday and everything went well. The doctor said that her adenoids were "enormous" and that her tonsils had a ton of "debris" built up around them, uh Yuck!. So, he said things should improve for her now. She's doing pretty good, already bored, and still has several days of bed rest to go. The pain seems to be under control with the pain medicine they sent home and she's eating soft foods and drinking great. I'm sure her recovery will be quick.

Ryan is doing great. He already sees as well now without his contacts as he did before with them. The whites of his eyes were CRAZY red yesterday, but are a little better today. He heads back to the doctor this after noon to get everything checked out.

Today we are hanging out at home and watching the clock so we make sure not to miss anyone's medicine time. FUN!

Carter is spending some time with Grandma and Popa this week. His "flying fingers" would be a bad thing around Ryan's eyes at this time. I'm sure he's having a wonderful time and we miss him. :( But are thankful for the break :) Thanks mom and dad!

Baby, Baby!

A little late in letting everyone know . . . sorry about that! We found out last Wednesday that we are going to have TWO GIRLS! Shaye is so very happy and has informed us that she will not be moving out. So now, poor Carter is the only boy. Ryan is feeling a bit nervous about having all of those "female hormones" running around the house, but we've decided to send them to Northern Indiana when they turn 12 to be cared for by their loving Great Aunt Nancy and Great Uncle Bob a.k.a. Stinky. ;)

The New Year so far . . .

So far this year things have been uneventful. Shaye was suppose to have surgery to remove her tonsils and adenoids on December 31st, but she was quite sick with a cold and couldn't. She'll go on the 30th of this month and get it done. She's enjoying a new basketball season at church and started cheerleading for the first time. She loves it. I'll post pics later. Carter continues to make progress and recover from chemo. Each week we see him say more, feel better, eat better and interact more normally with others. We are working on potty training which has become a full time job on it's own. He hasn't quite figure the whole thing out yet, but we are hanging in there. I told mom I was going to go back to work until she finished potty training him. Shaye was so easy, we just took the diaper off, put panties on and she went . . . no trouble. Carter not so much. He's still having trouble with the poo poo part because of the medicine. It's harder for him to get things moving so that part may take some time. Ryan is doing fine. Working on getting a different position at work. Hopefully that will pan out this month or early in February. He has eye surgery on the 30th to correct a progressive eye disease called Karataconus. This will help him see a lot better and keep him from eventually going blind. The twins are doing fine. We have an appointment today. Hopefully we will find out boy/girl status. (I'll post again after if we do). If we don't find out today, I have another appointment next week at the high risk doctor and they have a much better ultrasound machine so we will definately find out then. I am feeling much better than a couple of weeks ago (probably the reason for no posts) I finally have more energy and I haven't gotten sick for a week or so now. Food is on my good list once again. Moe's Burritos seem to be a favorite. (Yum wonder what time they open???? Burrito for breakfast? Sounds good to me) We had a great time at Mamaw's 2nd 80th Birthday party on Tuesday. I think she enjoyed herself too. She was like a little kid when it came to presents. She started peeking before it was even present time. :) I'll post pictures when I get them from dad. I guess that's all for now, I hope everyone is doing well so far this year. We miss you all and can't wait to see you again soon. Hopefully I'll get to come to TN for the reunion this year. Not sure how that will work with the babies. We will see. Love to all of you and blessings to all in 2008.

Just for Shannon!

MISS YOU TOO! As soon as I get the pics from dad I'll post Christmas and Mamaw's 80th birthday.
