So for dad's 60th birthday I, being his favorite daughter in the whole world, decided to bake (from scratch) his favorite cake, a carrot cake. YUM! Went to the store to get all the ingredients, mixed and stirred, baked and frosted all afternoon. Doesn't it look good! YUM! Everyone came over for cake to celebrate this very special day and we dug in.
The birthday boy is first. YUM! or NOT! The cake was awful! It was so dry you could hardly get it down your throat. It weighed a ton and a half and was about as dense as a brick. More like YUCK!

My own mamaw couldn't eat it.

So What do you do with a cake that taste like burnt sand?

Trash it as fast as you can!

There! That's better.

It's a good thing mom is well aware of my "baking skills". She had the forsight to bring a store bought pie . . . just in case the "carrot cake" went bad. Thanks Mom!

It was an Edwards chocolate cream pie and it was so very good. We had a great laugh at Shawna's expense. That just made it all the more fun.
